The X-Men disband and Cyclops begins to suffer from depression. One year later, the MRD (Mutant Response Division) is starting to detain mutants causing Wolverine and Beast to get the X-Men back together. Iceman, Shadowcat and Forge rejoin the team. Rogue joins up with the Brotherhood of Mutants. The X-Mansion is rebuilt with Angel's wealth. Emma Frost is able to locate a comatose Charles on Genosha in the care of Magneto. When hearing this, Cyclops returns to the team and X-Men go to Genosha to find Professor X. After a short confrontation with Magneto, they are allowed to take Professor X back with them to the X-Mansion. Professor X contacts the X-Men telepathically from twenty years in the future and informs Wolverine that he is to lead the X-Men if they wish to successfully prevent a Mutant-Human War that will cause the world to fall under the domination of the Sentinels. [edit] Season Two As of now, season two is in post production. The same team that produced the first season will be returning. There will be 26 more episodes and it will focus on the Age of Apocalypse.[citation needed] [edit] Episode list Main article: List of Wolverine and the X-Men episodes [edit] Characters [edit] X-Men Angel[1] Beast[1] Colossus[1] Cyclops[1] Emma Frost[2] Forge[2] Iceman[1] Jean Grey[1] Nightcrawler[1] Professor X[1] Rogue[1] Shadowcat[1] Storm[1] Wolverine[1] [edit] Brotherhood of Mutants Quicksilver[3] Domino[3] Avalanche[3] Toad[3] Blob[3] [edit] Acolytes Magneto[2] Mystique[4] Scarlet Witch[4] Polaris[5] Scanner[4] Mellencamp[4] Senyaka[4] Kleinstock Brothers[5] Pyro[2] Blink[5] Mercury[4] Juggernaut[5] [edit] Marauders Mister Sinister[6] Arclight[6] Archangel[7] Blockbuster[6] Harpoon[6] Multiple Man[6] Vertigo[6] [edit] Weapon X Dr. Abraham Cornelius[8] Professor Thornton[8] Sabretooth[8] Maverick[8] X-23[9] [edit] Hellfire Club Sebastian Shaw[10] Harry Leland[10] Donald Pierce[10] Selene[10] Stepford Cuckoos[11] Emma Frost[10] [edit] X-Men from the Future Professor X[12] Berzerker[12] Bishop[12] Domino[12] Hellion[12] Kamal[12] Marrow[12] Polaris[13] Rover[14] Vanisher[12] Wolverine[15] X-23 and duplicates[15] [edit] MRD/Project: Wideawake Senator Robert Kelly[1] Warren Worthington II[1] Bolivar Trask[16] The Sentinels[2] The Prowlers Master Mold[12]

On November 4, 2008, a second season, consisting of 26 episodes was confirmed as being in pre-production [22]. [edit] Broadcast history [edit] United States Early news had speculated the show to air in Fall 2008 in the United States[23]. However, the speculation came to a rest as according to Marvel Quarterly reports, the show was set to air in the United States in Spring 2009.[24] It was also confirmed in an article by USA Today's website in which it specifically mentions the cartoon starting on January 23, 2009 on Nicktoons Network.[25] On January 23, the first episode aired in the United States. The two premiered episodes will re-air on regular Nickelodeon the following Sunday in the 2:00pm to 3:00pm time slot. However, after the first 8 episodes were premiered on Nicktoons Network, the series went on broadcast hiatus until April 27, 2009, according to the channel's website, at which point further episodes of the first season will premiere in the United States. [edit] United Kingdom Press releases indicated that the first episode was due to premiere on August 2 2008 on BBC2 in the UK; however, it was postponed and premiered on January 4 2009 [26] on the CBBC Channel. Initially, one new episode aired every Sunday, but on January 25 2009, CBBC started airing two new episodes every Sunday. The time slots varied, and the episodes were available for viewing on the BBC iPlayer for a limited time after they aired. As of mid-February 2009, some new episodes were shown on weekdays instead of at the weekend. CBBC in the UK overtook Canada on March 4 2009 when it aired the 20th episode, "Breakdown". On June 23, 2008, a second preview for the series, starring the main X-Men team, was released to announce the special screening of the 3-part pilot episodes that aired at the San Diego Comic-Con in late July 2008.[27] [edit] Canada In Canada, the series started airing on YTV on Saturday, September 6, 2008 in the 7pm time slot. [28][29][30]Recently, its time slot has been switched to Saturday morning programming, Crunch, where it airs at 11:30am. The series will also be shown on the Canadian toon network, Teletoon, starting at the beginning of the show on January 11, 2009 at 10am, right before The Spectacular Spider-Man.[31]. [edit] Latin America and Brazil In Brazil and Latin America, the series is airing on Jetix Brazil[32] and Jetix (Latin America)[33] starting August 25 from Mondays to Thursdays at 4:30 PM.[34]. [edit] Ratings Thanks to the abundance of advertising for the series done by Nicktoons and Marvel, the Nicktoons Network premiere of Wolverine and the X-Men, garnered Nicktoons with their biggest ratings ever. Over 500,000 watched the premiere, which is the network's highest ratings ever. [35] Hindsight, Part One - 436,000 viewers Hindsight, Part Two - 589,000 viewers [edit] DVD release Liberation Entertainment have announced the first DVD will be released on November 3, 2008 in the United Kingdom.[36] The DVD has since been cancelled due to the UK branch of Liberation Entertainment going into administration; it is unclear if the USA branch will continue to release it in the future. A new company has gotten the rights to the show, so now they will be released by E1 Entertainment in April 2009. Buena Vista Home Entertainment Mexico announced the release of the first DVD R4 containing the initial 6 episodes by Fall 2008. The first three episodes will be released on DVD in the US in April 2009. The DVD is titled "Heroes Return Trilogy" and is set to include a number of special features. Volume 2 is scheduled for release in July. Whether or not a full season set will be released is unknown. Magna Home Entertainment have announced that the full 1st Season (26 episodes) is being released in Australia on May 6, 2009 with a Limited Edition Wolverine Mold Case.
